Tim Burton is the only director that captures the eerie beauty of Halloween like no other. Films such as Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, and, of course, The Nightmare Before Christmas wonderfully capture the holiday's atmospheric magic: its foggy dusk, frightening exhilaration, and sad enchantment.
I've always liked Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, so I chose to replicate one of my favorite characters from the film, Emily the Corpse Bride, for Halloween. I wanted to create a look that was more lifelike and gorgeous.
Begin with a smooth, even complexion. Do not use any foundation that claims a dazzling or radiant appearance; dolls prefer a matte look. Also, don't overdo the highlighting and contouring. All you need is a tiny dab of matte bronzer in the hollows of your cheekbones.
Step 1: Apply White Eyeshadow
Pack white eye shadow across your whole eyelid and down down the lower lash line with a flat brush. Apply white eyeliner to your waterline and inner corners of your eyes to make them stand out even more.
Step 2: Apply False Lashes
The next step is to create full, fluttery, doll-like eyelashes. To begin, apply strip lashes to your upper lash line. Simply measure them to your eye and cut the excess.
Step 3: Bright Blush
Apply a reddish blush to the apples of your cheekbones alone. Use circular movements to focus the colour on the apples of your cheeks once you've cracked a smile.
Step 4: Create Faux Freckles
Brown gel eyeliner with a precision brush, or a sharp brown eye pencil, can be used to make doll-like freckles. Sprinkle them around your nose and cheeks, altering its size and colour intensity. If one becomes too dark, Andersen suggests pressing the region with your finger a few times to soften it.
Dark lipstick is the fifth step.
Finish with a dark red or black lipstick. and then your next Halloween look will be ready
